Once the design is approved you get a written scope and a schedule. Then we build. Most residential patios take one to two weeks depending on size and access.

Maintenance is light but it is not zero.
Sweep debris off regularly so organic material does not break down into the joints and feed weed growth. Rinse the surface each spring. Re sand the joints every three to five years, or sooner if you can see the sand level dropping. Sealing is optional and mostly a look preference, though it does help with stain resistance on lighter colored pavers.
If a paver ever cracks or settles, it gets lifted and replaced individually. That repairability is the single biggest practical advantage pavers hold over poured concrete.
Cost depends on square footage, material choice, site access and whether the project includes walls, steps or lighting. A straightforward rectangular patio in standard concrete pavers sits at the low end. Natural stone with a seating wall and built in fire feature sits considerably higher. For this climate, usually yes. Poured concrete cracks as the ground moves and the repair is a visible patch. Pavers flex with ground movement because they are individual units, and a damaged one can be swapped out. Pavers also offer far more design range in color, pattern and edge detail.
Spring through fall is the main season, but late fall and mild winter installations are absolutely possible here. Booking in winter for a spring build often means a better schedule slot. The ground needs to be workable and not frozen solid, which in most Bucks County winters leaves plenty of usable days.
Ground level patios frequently do not require a permit, though this varies by township and by whether the work affects drainage or impervious surface coverage. Raised patios, structural retaining walls above a certain height and anything near an easement usually do. We handle permit research as part of the project so you are not chasing township offices.
